Louisiana Counselors / Therapists

NetCE has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6361. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. NetCE is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

The Louisiana Licensed Professional Counselors Board of Examiners accepts courses from any provider who is NBCC approved.

The Louisiana Marriage and Family Therapy Advisory Committee accepts continuing education from AAMFT or LAMFT approved providers. NetCE is not currently an approved provider, however, licensees may seek post-approval.

Continuing Education Requirement

The Louisiana Licensed Professional Counselors Board of Examiners accepts NetCE courses.

NetCE is not currently an approved provider through the Louisiana Marriage and Family Therapy Advisory Committee, however, licensees may seek post-approval.

LPC are required 40 hours every two years, 20 of which may be completed online, and 10 of which may be completed by home study.*

A minimum of 3 of the 40 hours must be in ethics, and 6 hours must be in diagnosis (assessment, diagnosis, and treatment under the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, as published by the American Psychiatric Association) every two year licensing period.

Licensees approved to provide Teletherapy services are required 3 hours in teletherapy every renewal period.

PLPC are required 20 hours every two years, 10 of which may be completed online, and 5 of which may be completed by home study.*

A minimum of 1.5 of the 20 hours must be in ethics, and 3 hours must be in diagnosis (assessment, diagnosis, and treatment under the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, as published by the American Psychiatric Association) every two year licensing period.

LMFT are required 40 hours every two years, 20 of which may be completed online.*

A minimum of 3 of the 40 hours must be in ethics specific to marriage and family therapy, and 6 hours must be in diagnosis (assessment, diagnosis, and treatment under the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, as published by the American Psychiatric Association) every two year licensing period.
