New Hampshire Dental Professionals

The New Hampshire Board of Dental Examiners accepts courses from any provider who is ADA or AGD approved.

Continuing Education

The New Hampshire Board of Dental Examiners accepts NetCE courses.

Dentists are required 40 hours every two years, including 2 hours in infection control and 2 hours in Medical Emergency Training. A maximum of 50% of required continuing education may be completed online and a maximum of 20% by correspondence courses.* At least 30 of the 40 hours must be clinical and may include basic life support.**

Dentists who hold a moderate sedation permit are required 4 hours of sedation training every two years.

Beginning with DEA initial registrations or renewals starting June 27, 2023, all DEA-registered practitioners (with the exception of DVM-only license holders) are required 8 hours on treating and managing patients with opioid or other substance use disorders, including the appropriate clinical use of all FDA-approved drugs for the treatment of a substance use disorder; or the safe pharmacological management of dental pain and screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment of patients with (or at risk of developing) opioid and other substance use disorders, one-time only.

Dental Hygienists are required 20 hours every two years, including 2 hours in infection control and 2 hours in Medical Emergency Training. A maximum of 50% of required continuing education may be completed online and a maximum of 20% by correspondence courses.* At least 15 of the 20 hours must be clinical and may include basic life support.**

*NetCE courses are online and correspondence courses.

**NetCE does not issue credit for basic life support.
