LPCs: Required 40 hours every two year licensing period, 10 of which may be in distance learning.*

ALCs: Required 20 hours each annual licensing period, 10 of which may be taken in distance learning.*

A minimum of 3 of the 20 hours must be in ethics every two year licensing period.

MFTs: Required 40 hours every two year licensing period, 30 of which may be taken in distance learning.

CALIFORNIA COUNSELORS / THERAPISTS

In addition to our ASWB and NBCC approvals, CME Resource is approved by the State of California Board of Behavioral Sciences as a provider of continuing education. Provider #PCE 1632.

CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

LMFTs, IMFs, and LEPs: Required 36 hours every two year licensing period, all of which may be taken through interactive, electronic means such as online, teleconferencing and videotape viewing. A maximum of 18 hours may be taken through self-study (print).

A minimum of 6 of the 36 hours must be in law and ethics every two year licensing period.

Initial licensees are required to complete only 18 hours of CE for their first license renewal.

One-time requirements: 7 hours HIV/AIDS, 3 hours aging and long term care, 7 hours spousal or partner abuse.

COLORADO COUNSELORS / THERAPISTS

The Colorado Marriage and Family Therapist Examiners Board accepts CME Resource's courses as long as directly related to the licensee's professional practice.

CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

LPCs, LACs, and CACs: Required 40 hours every two year licensing period, 20 of which may be taken in the category of coursework.* The remaining 20 hours may be completed by independent learning.**

WYOMING COUNSELORS / THERAPISTS

The Wyoming Mental Health Professions Licensing Board accepts courses from any provider who is NBCC and/or ASWB approved.

CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

LPCs, and MFTs: Required 45 hours every two year licensing period, all of which may be taken by home study.

A minimum of 3 of the 45 hours must be in ethics every two year licensing period.

*CME Resource courses are considered home study.
