New Mexico Social Workers CE Requirements, Accreditations & Approvals

New Mexico Social Workers

As a Jointly Accredited Organization, NetCE is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit.

The New Mexico Board of Social Work Examiners accepts courses from any provider who is ASWB approved.

Continuing Education Requirement

The New Mexico Board of Social Work Examiners accepts NetCE courses.

LISW, LCSW, LBSW, and LMSW are required 30 hours every two years, all of which may be completed by home study.* A minimum of 6 of the 30 hours must be in the subject area of cultural awareness.

Supervisors overseeing licensed LMSWs are required a 3-hour administrative course on supervision. Course must be submitted for approval prior to completion.

* NetCE courses are considered home study.
