Healthy Equity CE Requirement for Washington Healthcare Professionals

Beginning January 1, 2024, Washington healthcare professionals are required at least 2 hours of health equity training every four years, including strategies to reduce implicit bias and assess the provider's ability to apply health equity concepts into practice. These hours are included in the total required for renewal.

Accredited CE for Washington Healthcare Professionals

Understanding the Washington Health Equity CE Requirement

What is the WA CE requirement for healthcare professionals?

According to the Department of Health (DOH) and its implementation of the Engrossed Substitute Senate Bill (ESSB) 5229 (chapter 276, laws 2021), all healthcare professionals credentialed under Title 18 RCW, and subject to continuing education requirements, and must complete health equity continuing education training. This training must be taken at least once every four years.  

How many hours are required?

Washington healthcare professionals are required at least 2 hours of health equity training every four years.
