New Mexico Psychologists
Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided
through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association
(APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA
CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs.
The New Mexico Board of Psychologist Examiners accepts courses from any provider who is approved by the American Psychological Association.
Continuing Education Requirement
Attention New Mexico Psychologists: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department’s Boards and Commissions Division is suspending the requirement for proof of continuing education for those who have licensure expiration dates through July 31, 2020. Once the restrictions have been lifted, licensees will have specified period of time to submit their continuing education credits to their applicable board. Psychologists are required 40 hours every two years, 25 of which may be completed by home study. A minimum of 4 of the 40 hours must be in cultural diversity and 5 hours must be in ethics every two years.
