NetCE is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider. ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry. Concerns or complaints about a CE provider may be directed to the provider or to ADA CERP at www.ada.org/cerp.

Continuing education must be completed through a provider who is approved by the Iowa Dental Board. Currently, NetCE is not approved; however professionals may seek prior or post approval.

Continuing Education

NetCE is currently not approved by the Iowa Dental Board; however professionals may seek prior or post approval.

Dentists and Dental Hygienists are required 30 hours every two years, 12 of which may be completed by self-study.*
Additional requirements include:

  • Licensees with a deep sedation/general anesthesia or conscious sedation permit are required to complete 6 hours of sedation every two year licensing period.
  • Licensees who regularly examine, attend, counsel or treat adults/children are required to complete 2 hours of adult/child abuse identification and reporting every five years.**

Dental Assistants are required 20 hours every two years, 12 of which may be completed by self-study.*
Additional requirements include:

  • A minimum of 2 of the 20 hours must be in infection control every two years.
  • Licensees with an additional radiography qualification are required to complete 2 hours of radiography every two years.
  • Licensees who regularly examine, attend, counsel or treat adults/children are required to complete 2 hours of adult/child abuse identification and reporting every five years.**

*NetCE is not an approved sponsor, prior or post approval of activities directly relating to the professionals competency is required.

** Adult/child abuse cannot be taken from an out-of-state provider and must include Iowa Law.
