ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry. The New Jersey State Board of Dentistry accepts courses from any provider who is ADA or AGD approved.

Continuing Education

The New Jersey State Board of Dentistry accepts NetCE courses.

Dentists are required 40 hours every two years, 20 of which may be completed by distance learning.* Specific requirements include three (3) hours in pharmacology and internal medicine, two (2) hours in preventing and controlling infectious diseases and managing personnel health and safety concerns related to infection control in dental settings, one (1) hour in professional ethics, and one (1) hour on prescription opioids.

Dental Hygienists are required 20 hours every two years, 10 of which may be completed by distance learning.* Specific requirements include one (1) hour in preventing and controlling infectious diseases and managing personnel health and safety concerns related to infection control in dental settings, one (1) hour in professional ethics, and one (1) hour on prescription opioids.

Dental Assistants are required 10 hours every two years, 5 of which may be completed by distance learning.* Specific requirements include one (1) hour in preventing and controlling infectious diseases and managing personnel health and safety concerns related to infection control in dental settings, one (1) hour in professional ethics, and one (1) hour on prescription opioids.

*NetCE courses are considered distance learning.
