Oklahoma Dental Professionals

NetCE is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider. ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry. Concerns or complaints about a CE provider may be directed to the provider or to ADA CERP at www.ada.org/cerp.

The Oklahoma Board of Dentistry accepts courses from any provider who is ADA or AGD approved.

Continuing Education

Attention Oklahoma Dentists and Dental Hygienists: Pursuant to Board Resolution 2020-3, the amount of continuing education hours that may be completed online has increased from 50% to 70% due to events related to the COVID-19 pandemic. For the current reporting period ending on June 30, 2021, dentists may complete up to 28 hours of online continuing education, and dental hygienists may complete up to 14 hours. The Oklahoma Board of Dentistry accepts NetCE courses.

Dentists are required 40 hours every two years, 20 of which may be completed by Category C (correspondence).* Must have proof of a course in ethics every two years.
Effective January 1, 2020, dentists will have a one-time requirement of 2 hours on opioids and scheduled drug prescribing.

Dental Hygienists are required 20 hours every two years, 10 of which may be completed by Category C (correspondence).* Must have proof of a course in ethics every two years.

Effective January 1, 2020, dentists and dental hygienists must complete a live CPR course every two years.

*NetCE courses are considered Category C (correspondence).

Dental Assistants are required to complete 2 hours on infection control every two years.
