Maine Advanced Practice Registered Nurses CE Requirements, Accreditations & Approvals
Maine Nurses
In
support of improving patient care, NetCE is jointly accredited by the Accreditation
Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for
Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to
provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
The Maine State Board of Nursing accepts courses from any provider who is ANCC accredited.
Continuing Education Requirement
Attention Maine Nurses: Pursuant to Governor Mill’s Executive Order, licenses will not expire or need to be renewed for 30 days after the end of the declaration of the emergency. The Maine State Board of Nursing accepts NetCE courses.
RNs and LPNs are not required continuing education at this time.
APRNs are required 75 contact hours every two years, in nursing, medicine, or allied health in the area of practice. Licensees with prescriptive authority are required 3 hours of Category I education on the prescribing of opioid medication.*
CNMs must maintain national certification through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).
*NetCE courses are considered Category I.
