Nebraska Advanced Practice Registered Nurses CE Requirements, Accreditations & Approvals

Nebraska Nurses

In support of improving patient care, NetCE is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

The Nebraska Board of Nursing accepts courses from any provider who is ANCC accredited.

Continuing Education Requirement

The Nebraska Board of Nursing accepts NetCE courses.

RNs and LPNs are required 20 contact hours every two years.

APRNs are required to maintain their Nebraska RN license or NLC multistate license.

CNSs must maintain national certification.

NPs must maintain national certification.

Licensees who prescribe controlled substances shall include at least 3 hours on prescribing opiates which may include, but is not limited to, education regarding prescribing and administering opiates, the risks and indicators regarding development of addiction to opiates, and emergency opiate situations. One half-hour (30 minutes) of the 3 required hours must cover the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP).
