Washington Psychologists
Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the
co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of
Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains
responsibility for the content of the programs.
The Washington State Examining Board of Psychology accepts courses from any provider who is approved by the American Psychological Association.
Continuing Education Requirement
Psychologists: Required 60 hours every three years, all of which may be taken by correspondence.*
A minimum of four of the 60 hours must be in professional ethics and law. In addition, a 6-hour course in suicide assessment, treatment and management must be completed every six years.
*NetCE courses are considered correspondence.
