Kentucky Social Workers CE Requirements, Accreditations & Approvals
Kentucky Social Workers
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, NetCE is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit.
The Kentucky Board of Social Work accepts courses from any provider who is ASWB approved.
Continuing Education Requirement
The Kentucky Board of Social Work accepts NetCE courses.
LCSW and CSW are required 30 hours every three years, 27 of which may be completed by home study or online (special requirements for Kentucky ethics requirement noted below).*
LCSWs with supervisory status must include 3 hours in clinical social work supervision every three year licensing period. (Face-to-face only)
LSW are required 15 hours every three years, 12 of which may completed by home study or online (special requirements for Kentucky ethics requirement noted below).*
All licenses must complete the following:
- 3 hours on Kentucky Code of Ethical Conduct from a KBSW-approved provider every three year licensing period. NetCE is not approved to offer this course.
- 1.5 hours of pediatric abusive head trauma every 6 years (LCSW and LSW only).
- 6 hours of suicide assessment, treatment, and management every 6 years.
- 3 hours of domestic violence during the 3 year cycle following initial licensure.
* NetCE courses are considered home study and online.
