Montana Social Workers

As a Jointly Accredited Organization, NetCE is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. NetCE maintains responsibility for this course.

The Montana Board of Behavioral Health accepts NetCE courses that directly relate to the licensees scope of practice.

Continuing Education Requirement

The Montana Board of Behavioral Health accepts NetCE courses that directly relate to the licensees scope of practice.

LCSWs are required 20 hours each year, including 2 hours in suicide prevention, all of which may be completed by home study.* As of March 30th, 2019, the board no longer preapproves continuing education (CE) courses or sponsors. Licensees are responsible for taking courses that directly relate to their scopes of practice, as defined in their appropriate statute.

*NetCE courses are considered home study.
