Oregon Psychologists CE Requirements, Accreditations & Approvals

Oregon Psychologists

Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs.

The Oregon State Board of Psychologist Examiners requires the licensee to determine if the continuing education meets requirements of their scope of practice.

Continuing Education Requirement

Psychologists are required 40 hours every two years, 20 of which may be completed by home study. A minimum of 4 of the 40 hours must be in ethics, and a new requirement of 4 hours in cultural competency every two years. There is a one-time requirement of 6 hours in pain management; plus an additional 1 hour that must be specific to Oregon provided by the Pain Management Commission of the Department of Human Services.
