Texas Psychologists CE Requirements, Accreditations & Approvals

Texas Psychologists

Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs.

The Texas Board of Examiners of Psychology does not pre-approve continuing education credit.

NetCE is considered a permitted activity, but it is at the discretion of the licensee.

Continuing Education Requirement

Psychologists are required 20 hours each year, all of which must be within the scope of practice. A minimum of 3 of the 20 hours must be in ethics and 3 hours must be in cultural diversity each year.

Beginning with renewals on or after September 1, 2020, licensees who provide direct patient care must complete a human trafficking course approved by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. Please check our website regularly for updates to our course list.
