Texas Psychologists

Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs.

The Texas Board of Examiners of Psychology does not pre-approve continuing education credit.

NetCE is considered a permitted activity, but it is at the discretion of the licensee.

Continuing Education Requirement

All licensees who provide direct patient care must complete a human trafficking course approved by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission every renewal. Please check our website regularly for updates to our course list.

Psychologists are required 40 hours every two years, all of which must be within scope of practice. A minimum of six (6) of the 40 hours must be in ethics and six (6) must be in cultural diversity every two years. Licensees who pass the jurisprudence examination may claim 1 hour of professional development in ethics.
