Minnesota Counselors/Therapists CE Requirements, Accreditations & Approvals

Minnesota Counselors / Therapists

NetCE has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6361. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. NetCE is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs.

As a Jointly Accredited Organization, NetCE is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. NetCE maintains responsibility for this course.

The Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy accepts courses from any provider who is APA, NBCC and/or ASWB approved.

The Minnesota Board of Marriage & Family Therapy requires all courses relating to MFTs to be board approved. NetCE, at this time, has not sought board approval.

Continuing Education Requirement

Attention Minnesota Counselors: The Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy will allow LADC licensees to complete all CE hours online, and LPC/LPCC licensees to complete CE through interactive or other online media activities. Online activities will count as in-person CE and are not considered home study activities. Additionally, the Governor’s Emergency Executive Order 20-23 (EO 20-23) has authorized deferment of continuing education reporting requirements until the first full reporting cycle following termination of the peacetime emergency. The Board is working to implement these changes and will provide more specific information as soon as it becomes available.
