Oregon Counselors / Therapists

NetCE has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6361. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. NetCE is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs.

The Oregon State Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists accepts courses from any provider who is APA and/or NBCC approved.

Continuing Education Requirement

Attention Oregon LMFTs and LPCs: Effective June 8, 2020, the Board adopted an extension to the Continuing Education (CE) requirements. CE reporting and auditing for the year 2020 has ceased, and all licensees, even those who already reported CE in 2020, will report 80 clock hours of CE in the year 2022, instead of reporting 40 hours in 2020 and 40 hours in 2022. The normal CE reporting requirements resume for the 2024 reporting period and beyond. Additionally, all licensees will continue to renew their licenses annually, and all continuing education hours may be obtained via home study (distance learning). The Oregon State Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists accepts NetCE courses.

LMFTs and LPCs are required 40 hours every two years, all of which may be completed by distance learning.*

A minimum of 6 of the 40 hours must be in ethics, 4 hours in cultural competency, and 2 hours in suicide risk assessment, treatment and management, every two years. Licensees on the Supervisor Registry and supervisors of registered interns are required 3 hours in supervision every two years.

* NetCE courses are considered distance learning.
