Kentucky Counselors / Therapists
NetCE has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider,
ACEP No. 6361. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly
identified. NetCE is solely responsible for all aspects of the
programs.
The Kentucky Board of Licensure for Professional Counselors accepts courses from any provider who is NBCC approved.
The Kentucky Board of Licensure for Marriage and Family Therapists requires courses to be board approved. NetCE courses are not currently approved.
Continuing Education Requirement
The Kentucky Board of Licensure for Professional Counselors requires accepts NetCE courses.
NetCE courses are not currently approved by The Kentucky Board of Licensure for Marriage and Family Therapist.
LPCA and LPCC are required 10 hours each year, all of which may be completed by home study.*
Additional requirements:
- 3 hours of law must be completed once every three years and must pertain to the laws that regulate professional counseling in Kentucky and be presented by a Kentucky Professional Counseling approved provider. NetCE is not approved to offer this course.
- 6 hours of suicide assessment, treatment, and management to be completed within the first year of initial licensure and every six years thereafter. NetCE is approved to offer this course by the Kentucky Board of Professional Counselors.
- 3 hours of domestic violence to be completed within the three years following initial licensure and be presented by a Kentucky Professional Counseling approved provider. NetCE is approved to offer this course by the Kentucky Board of Professional Counselors.
MFT and MFTA are required 15 hours each year, all of which may be completed by home study by a board approved provider. NetCE courses are not currently approved.
A minimum of 3 of the 10 hours must be in ethics each year, and 6 hours must be in suicide assessment, treatment, and management every 6 years.
*NetCE courses are considered home study.
