Minnesota Dental Professionals

NetCE is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider. ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry. Concerns or complaints about a CE provider may be directed to the provider or to ADA CERP at www.ada.org/cerp.

The Minnesota Board of Dentistry accepts courses from any provider who is ADA approved.

Continuing Education

The Minnesota Board of Dentistry accepts NetCE courses.

Dentists are required 50 hours every two years, all of which may be completed by fundamental activities.* A minimum of 2 courses must be completed in two different core subject areas:

  • Infection control,
  • Record keeping,
  • Ethics,
  • Management of medical emergencies,
  • Patient communications, and
  • Diagnosis and treatment.

NEW Effective January 1, 2020, controlled substance prescribers must complete a one-time requirement of 2 hours on topics relating to best practices in prescribing opioids and controlled substances.

Dental Hygienists and Dental Assistants are required 25 hours every two years, all of which may be completed by fundamental activities.*
A minimum of 2 courses must be completed in two different core subject areas:

  • Record keeping,
  • Ethics,
  • Management of medical emergencies,
  • Patient communications, and
  • Diagnosis and treatment.

*NetCE courses are considered fundamental activities.
