The Kansas Dental Board accepts courses from any provider who is ADA approved.

Continuing Education

The Kansas Dental Board accepts NetCE courses.

Dentists are required 60 hours every two years, 2 hours of which must be in ethics, every two years. All hours may be completed by home study.* Dentists who hold a Level I sedation permit must have proof of 6 hours limited to sedation. Dentists who hold a Level II or Level III sedation permit must have proof of 8 hours limited to sedation, which shall include the complications associated with airways and intravenous sedation and their management every two years.

Beginning with DEA initial registrations or renewals starting June 27, 2023, all DEA-registered practitioners (with the exception of DVM-only license holders) are required 8 hours on treating and managing patients with opioid or other substance use disorders, including the appropriate clinical use of all FDA-approved drugs for the treatment of a substance use disorder; or the safe pharmacological management of dental pain and screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment of patients with (or at risk of developing) opioid and other substance use disorders, one-time only.

Dental Hygienists are required 30 hours every two years, 1 hour of which must be in ethics, every two years. All hours may be completed by home study.*

*NetCE courses are considered home study.
