ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry. Continuing Education

Dentists are required 28 general hours every two years, all of which may be
completed by home study.*
Mandates include:
- 2 hours of Medical Errors every renewal, in addition to general hours.
- 2 hours of Domestic Violence every third renewal, in addition to general hours.
- NEW One-time 1-hour course on human trafficking. This course is included in general hours and must be completed by January 1, 2021.
- Dentists registered with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and authorized to prescribe controlled substances must complete 2 hours of safe and effective prescribing of controlled substance medications every renewal, included in general hours.
- One-time requirement of 2 hours of HIV/AIDS at initial renewal.
