Nevada Advanced Practice Registered Nurses CE Requirements, Accreditations & Approvals
Nevada Nurses
In
support of improving patient care, NetCE is jointly accredited by the Accreditation
Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for
Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to
provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
The Nevada State Board of Nursing accepts courses from any provider who is ANCC accredited.
Continuing Education Requirement
The Nevada State Board of Nursing accepts NetCE courses.
RNs and LPNs are required 30 contact hours every two years. There is a one-time requirement of 4 contact hours in Bioterrorism.
APNs are required 45 contact hours every two years, 15 of which must be related to the area of practice and are required 2 hours of training in evidence-based suicide prevention and awareness to be completed within two years of initial licensure and every four years thereafter. There is a one-time requirement of 4 contact hours in Bioterrorism.
APNs registered to dispense controlled substances are required at least 2 hours related to the misuse and abuse of controlled substances, the prescribing of opioids or addiction.
