Maryland Nurses CE Requirements, Accreditations & Approvals

Maryland Nurses

In support of improving patient care, NetCE is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

The Maryland Board of Nursing accepts courses from any provider who is ANCC accredited.

Continuing Education Requirement

Attention Maryland Nurses: Per the Executive Order issued by the Governor on June 15, 2021, all licenses and certificates that would expire prior to August 15, 2021, are extended until 11:59 p.m. on August 15, 2021, after which time the license or certificate will expire unless renewed prior to that date. The Maryland Board of Nursing accepts NetCE courses.

RNs and LPNs are not required continuing education at this time.

RN-FNEs (Forensic Nurse Examiners) are required 16 hours in forensic science or forensic nursing every two years.

APRNs are required to maintain national certification.
