Maryland Nurses CE Requirements, Accreditations & Approvals

Maryland Nurses

In support of improving patient care, NetCE is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

The Maryland Board of Nursing accepts courses from any provider who is ANCC accredited.

Continuing Education Requirement

Attention Maryland Nurses: In support of the Governor's State of Emergency Executive Order, the Maryland Board of Nursing has modified the 30 day grace period for license or certificate renewals effective immediately. This modification will allow applicants to renew their license or certificate up to 365 days after their expiration date. This change is being implemented to increase and improve the renewal process. The Maryland Board of Nursing accepts NetCE courses.

RNs and LPNs are not required continuing education at this time.

RN-FNEs (Forensic Nurse Examiners) are required 16 hours in forensic science or forensic nursing every two years.

APRNs are required to maintain national certification.
