New York Nurses CE Requirements, Accreditations & Approvals
New York Nurses
In
support of improving patient care, NetCE is jointly accredited by the Accreditation
Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for
Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to
provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
The New York State Board of Nursing accepts courses from any provider who is ANCC accredited.
Continuing Education Requirement
The New York State Board of Nursing accepts NetCE courses.
RNs and NPs are required to complete course work or training in Infection Control at initial licensure and every four years thereafter. In addition, there is a one-time requirement of 2 hours in Child Abuse Identification and Reporting.
LPNs are required to complete course work or training in Infection Control at initial licensure and every four years thereafter.
NPs are required to also maintain national certification.
Those authorized to prescribe controlled substances are required to complete at least 3 hours of training in pain management, palliative care, and addiction, and every 3 years.
