West Virginia Nurses CE Requirements, Accreditations & Approvals
West Virginia Nurses
In
support of improving patient care, NetCE is jointly accredited by the Accreditation
Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for
Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to
provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
The West Virginia Board of Examiners for Registered Professional Nurses and West Virginia State Board of Examiners for Licensed Practical Nurses accepts courses from any provider who is ANCC accredited.
NetCE is an approved provider of continuing education through CE Broker for RNs and APRNs, Provider #50-2405. NetCE will electronically report successful course completions to CE Broker.

RNs are required 12 contact hours each year, 2 of which must be related to mental health conditions common to veterans and family members of veterans. Licensees authorized to prescribe, dispense, and/or administer controlled substances are required 3 hours of drug diversion training at initial licensure, and 1 hour annually thereafter. New biennial renewal cycle begins for RN licensees after 10/31/2022 license renewal. Beginning with renewal cycle 11/1/2022-10/31/2024, RNs will be required to complete 24 contact hours every 2 years.
APRNs are required 24 contact hours every 2 years, 12 of which must be in pharmacotherapeutics and 12 must be clinical management practice.
LPNs are required 24 contact hours every two years, 3 of which must be in chemical dependence/substance abuse disorders and 2 must be related to mental health conditions common to veterans and family members of veterans. LPNs are also required 2 contact hours in end-of-life care with pain management, one-time only (at initial renewal).
