Wyoming Nurses CE Requirements, Accreditations & Approvals
Wyoming Nurses
In
support of improving patient care, NetCE is jointly accredited by the Accreditation
Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for
Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to
provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
The Wyoming State Board of Nursing accepts courses from any provider who is ANCC accredited.
Continuing Education Requirement
The Wyoming State Board of Nursing accepts NetCE courses.
RNs and LPNs are required every two years:
- If working full-time, no continuing education.
- If working part-time, 20 contact hours (if worked less than 1600 hours in the last five years or less than 500 hours in the last two years).
APRNs are required 60 contact hours in specialty area every two years and 400 practice hours. Prescriptive authority requires an additional 15 hours of pharmacology and clinical management of drug therapy.
Effective July 1, 2019, all licensees with prescriptive authority are required 3 hours of continuing education related to the prescribing of controlled substances or the treatment of substance abuse disorders every two years.
