New Mexico Pharmacists / Pharmacy Technicians

In support of improving patient care, NetCE is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

NetCE will report your credit to the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), provided that you add your NABP e-Profile ID and date of birth to your account. If you select to opt out of entering this information, you agree to not hold NetCE responsible for reporting your credit. The New Mexico Board of Pharmacy accepts courses from any provider who is ACPE accredited.

Continuing Education Requirement

NetCE will report your credit to the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), provided that you add your NABP e-Profile ID and date of birth to your account. If you select to opt out of entering this information, you agree to not hold NetCE responsible for reporting your credit.

Pharmacists are required 30 hours every two years, 20 of which may be completed by home study.* Of the 30 hours, 2 hours must be completed in patient safety and 2 hours must be completed on the safe use of opioids every two years. In addition, all licensees must complete 2 hours in pharmacy law every two years. Licensees who live or work in New Mexico must complete a live course. Licensees who live or work out of state may complete the requirement through home study, as long as the course is from an ACPE approved provider.

Pharmacists authorized to administer vaccines are required an additional 2 hours related to vaccines every two years. Course may not be completed by home study.

Pharmacists exercising prescriptive authority for emergency contraceptive drug therapy are required an additional 2 hours related to emergency contraceptive drug therapy every two years.

Pharmacists exercising prescriptive authority for tobacco cessation drug therapy are required an additional 2 hours related to tobacco cessation drug therapy every two years.

Pharmacists exercising prescriptive authority for naloxone drug therapy are required an additional 2 hours related to naloxone drug therapy every two years. Course may not be completed by home study.

Pharmacists exercising prescriptive authority for hormonal contraception drug therapy are required an additional 2 hours related to hormonal contraception drug therapy every two years. Course may not be completed by home study.

Pharmacist Clinicians are required an additional 20 hours every two years, none of which may be completed by home study.*

Certified Pharmacy Technicians must maintain current board approved certification.

*NetCE courses are considered home study.
