Alaska Pharmacists / Pharmacy Technicians
In
support of improving patient care, NetCE is jointly accredited by the Accreditation
Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for
Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to
provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
NetCE will report your credit to the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), provided that you add your NABP e-Profile ID and date of birth to your account. The Alaska Board of Pharmacy accepts courses from any provider who is ACPE accredited.
Continuing Education Requirement
Attention Alaska Pharmacists: When the board evaluated the emergency preparedness regulation last year, the requirement to complete and pass the Multistate Jurisprudence Pharmacy Examination (MPJE) in order to align with the intent of expediting pharmacist licensure in the event of an emergency was eliminated. Pharmacists are required 30 hours every two years, all of which may be completed by home study.*
Pharmacists authorized to administer vaccines or related emergency medications are required 1 hour specific to this topic every two years.
Pharmacists who dispense opioid overdose medication have a one-time requirement of 1 hour specific to opioid overdose medication.
Pharmacists who engage in compounding are encouraged to complete courses related to the science and regulation of compounding every two years.
Pharmacy Technicians are required 10 hours every two years, all of which may be completed by home study*; or maintain PTCB certification.
*NetCE courses are considered home study.
