Utah Physicians CE Requirements, Accreditations & Approvals

Utah Physicians

In support of improving patient care, NetCE is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

The Utah Department of Commerce Division of Occupational & Professional Licensure accepts courses from any provider who is ACCME-accredited and awards AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.

Continuing Education Requirement

MDs are required 40 hours of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ every two years. All controlled substance prescribers must complete 4 hours in controlled substance prescribing every renewal, .5 of which must be completed through an online tutorial and test, as described by the Board in section 58-37f-402.* The remaining 3.5 hours may be completed through an AMA PRA Category 1 Credit course that meets Board requirements.**
