Virginia Psychologists
Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided
through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association
(APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA
CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs.
The Virginia Board of Psychology accepts courses form any provider who is approved by the American Psychological Association.
Continuing Education Requirement
Psychologists are required 14 hours each year, 8 of which may be completed by home study. A minimum of 1.5 of the 14 hours must be in ethics each year.
Psychologists are required 1 hour in the area of systemic oppression and anti-oppressive practice, or in related topic areas per Health Equity Advisory Commission report recommendations resulting from 2021 Acts and Resolves No. 33, Sec. 5 for improving cultural competency, cultural humility, and anti-racism in Vermont's health care system.
