New York Social Workers
The New York State Board of Social Work requires that providers offering continuing education activities must be approved through the New York State Education Department.
NetCE is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #SW-0033.
Continuing Education Requirement
Attention New York Social Workers: In response to the evolving situation with the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Department will grant an adjustment to all licensees, regardless of registration renewal date, to complete up to 100% of the continuing education as self-study during the period from March 1, 2020-July 1, 2022, so long as it is taken from a Department-approved provider and is in an acceptable subject area for the specific profession. NetCE is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work, #SW-0033.
LMSWs and LCSWs are required 36 hours of approved continuing education courses every three years, 12 of which may be completed by self-study.
*NetCE courses are considered self-study, as defined by the New York State Board for Social Work.
