Nebraska Counselors / Therapists

NetCE has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6361. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. NetCE is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs.

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Board of Mental Health Practice accepts NetCE's courses as long as they are related to the licensee's professional practice.

Continuing Education Requirement

Attention Nebraska Mental Health Practitioners: On December 20, 2021, Governor Pete Ricketts issued Executive Order 21-18, extending provisions of Executive Order 21-12, including suspension of continuing competency/continuing education requirements for certain licenses. The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Board of Mental Health Practice accepts NetCE's courses as long as they are scope of practice.

LMHPs, LIMHPs, CPCs, and CMFTs are required 32 hours every two years, 20 of which may be completed by home study.*

Effective July 12, 2021, all licensees are required a minimum of 4 of the 32 hours to be in ethics every two years. In addition, LIMHPs are required a minimum of 6 of the 32 hours to be related to the diagnosis and treatment of major mental disorders.

*NetCE courses are considered home study.
