Nebraska Counselors/Therapists CE Requirements, Accreditations & Approvals

Nebraska Counselors / Therapists

NetCE has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6361. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. NetCE is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs.

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Board of Mental Health Practice accepts NetCE's courses as long as they are related to the licensee's professional practice.

Continuing Education Requirement

Attention Nebraska Mental Health Practitioners: Executive Order 20-10 will defer continuing education requirements for renewals that occur during the emergency, as well as payments of renewal fees. Renewals are currently on hold and the license will not expire. Expiration dates will be extended until December 31, 2020. If licensees obtained online or home study CE hours during the emergency because in-person courses were not available, the Department will accept those CE hours even if the renewal (expiration date) for that profession takes place after the emergency has ended. The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Board of Mental Health Practice accepts NetCE's courses as long as they are scope of practice.

LMHPs, LIMHPs, CPCs, and CMFTs are required 32 hours every two years, 20 of which may be completed by home study.*

A minimum of 2 of the 32 hours must be in ethics every two years.

*NetCE courses are considered home study.
