Pennsylvania Social Workers CE Requirements, Accreditations & Approvals
Pennsylvania Social Workers
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, NetCE is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit.
The Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage & Family Therapists, and Professional Counselors accepts courses from any provider who is ASWB approved.
Continuing Education Requirement
The Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers accepts NetCE courses.
CSW, BSW, and SW are required 30 hours every two years, all of which may be completed online.*
Requirements include:
- A minimum of 3 hours must be in ethics every two years;
- A minimum of 2 hours (3 hours at initial licensure) must be in approved child abuse recognition and reporting every two years.
- A minimum of 1 hour must be in suicide prevention every two years.
* NetCE courses are considered online.
** NetCE course on child abuse recognition and reporting is approved for both initial licensure and/or license renewal.
