Texas Social Workers

As a Jointly Accredited Organization, NetCE is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. NetCE maintains responsibility for this course.

NetCE is an approved provider through the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners, Approval #3011.

Continuing Education Requirement

Attention Texas Social Workers: The Texas Governor has created a process to request temporary waiver of rules and statutes related to the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak.  To this end, the board is in the process of determining which rules and statutes will be most effective from a waiver standpoint.  The board is reviewing rules regarding submission deadlines, exam deadlines, technologically assisted practice, among others. NetCE is an approved provider through the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners, Approval #3011.

LBSWs, LCSWs, LMSWs, and LMSWs-AP are required 30 hours every two years, all of which may be completed by independent study.*

A minimum of 6 of the 30 hours must be in ethics every two years.

Beginning with renewals on or after September 1, 2020, licensees who provide direct patient care must complete a human trafficking course approved by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.

*NetCE courses are considered independent study.
